Immobilization is a technique that binds a biomolecule (enzyme, antibody, affinity proteins like Protein A or G) to a support giving high stability and making easier re-using the biomolecule.
Glyoxal agarose beads are ready to add the ligand and require no activation. Glyoxal beads allow a covalent binding of agarose to lysine amino groups (similar orientation to CNBr). Choice of degree of activation will depend on the resins' different density of reaction groups and pore size.
